Shuffle all 48 cards face down.
Before you play, check three things.
Every turn has two steps: play one card from your hand, then flip the top card of the deck. A card captures a floor card of the same month.
One match from your hand, no match from the flip.

Penalties (off at our table) · 박
A penalty (박 · bak) makes ONE loser pay double, while the other loser pays the normal amount. They're off at our table. Here's how they work, so you'll recognize them at other tables.
caught with almost no Junk.
The winner's score includes points from Junk, and you finished with fewer than 7 Junk cards. You pay double.
caught with no Brights.
The winner's score includes points from Brights, and you captured no Brights at all. You pay double.
caught with no Animals.
The winner's score includes points from Animals, and you captured no Animals at all. You pay double.
Your captured cards are checked after every turn. The moment they reach 3 points (7 with two players), the hand pauses and you choose.
3-player table: you can call Go or Stop from 3 points.
The hand ends. Each opponent pays you your score in chips. Safe and done.
The hand continues and you try to add to your score. Every Go makes the win bigger.
The risk: if an opponent reaches their target and calls Stop before you score again, you win nothing and you pay for the whole table, including the other loser's share. That's Go-bak (고박).
Example: 5 points after 3 Gos = (5 + 2) × 2 = 14 chips from each opponent.
New to Go-Stop? Stop the first few times. Only call Go when you can name the cards that will get you more points.
